funny that you're giving so much shine to phil spector's box set, i "gave" that to myself for xmas, and my friend bill too, amazon had it for like, 12 bucks!!! weird, but not so weird that i wouldnt buy at least two copies.
somebody (me?) should devote umpteen critical attention to spector's wall of sound techniques. somebody probably already has.
i couldnt remember "flying" from what has to be one of my fav beatles LPs, but a quick reminder from amazon:
"The album feels even more like a collection of singles (instead of an actual movie soundtrack) than Help! or A Hard Day's Night, but maybe that's because every song sounds like it could have been a hit single--with the natural exception of the goofy/weird instrumental 'Flying.'"
